CWGC (Common Wealth Grave Commission) – Erected uniform tablet headstones for 39 causalities from 1914-1920 buried in the Military Cemetery, King’s Island. Where possible an obituary from the Limerick Library Local Studies Collection has been attached, and full names and ages as recorded in the Civil Register Index of Ireland.

Those commemorated are:

  • JOHN TAYLOR ANDERSON – Australian Engineers Died on 17 December 1915, age 35. Son of Capt. John T. and Annie Anderson, of 9, Queen Street, Melbourne, Victoria.
  • GEORGE CRIGHTON ANGUS – Scottish Horse Died on 22 October 1918 age 20. Son of George Angus, of 79, Queen Street, Aberdeen.
  • WILLIAM HENRY BARNES – Royal Welsh Fusiliers Died on 13 July 1918 age 24. Husband of Alice Mary Shepherd, of 186, Hednesford Road, Heath Hayes, Stafford.
  • SYDNEY ENIL BROWN – Royal Welsh Fusiliers Died on 11 February 1919, age 29.
  • CLARENCE JOHN CHANTRY – King’s Shropshire Light Infantry Died on 30 December 1914 age 22. Son of Sarah Emily Hardy, of 8, Owen Street, Birmingham.
  • STANLEY COLWELL – Royal Welsh Fusiliers Died on 15 November 1918, age 26.
  • GEORGE COOK – Royal Welsh Fusiliers Died on 4 November 1918.
  • WILLIAM H DARGIE (Durgie) – Highland Light Infantry Died on 19 May 1920, age 21. Son of William and Mrs. W. Clifford Dargie, 36 Cotton Road, Dundee.
  • FREDERICK WILLIAM DAYKIN – Royal Field Artillery Died on 4 July 1919, age 32.
  • JOHN MCGLIN DUNLOP – Scottish Horse Died on 11 November 1918, age 20.
  • WILLIAM ELLISON – Labour Corps Died on 26 July 1918 age 40. Son of Philip and Elizabeth Ellison, Aintree, Lancashire.
  • THOMAS FISHER – Tank Corps Died on 25 November 1918 age 20.
  • CHARLES HENRY FOULKES  – Duke of Wellington’s (West Riding Regiment) Died on 11 September 1920 age 41. Husband of Frances and son of Henry and Elizabeth Foulkes, Liverpool.
  • DAVID RICHARD FOULKES – Royal Welsh Fusiliers Died on 12 July 1918 age 22.
  • JOHN GITTINS – Royal Welsh Fusiliers Died on 1 July 1918 age 23. Son of John and Mary Gittins, Heniarth Farm, Llanfair, Caereinion.
  • GEORGE HAMILTON – Scottish Horse Died on 21 October 1918 age 22. Son of James and Agnes Hamilton, Gall Cottag, Coalburn, Lanarkshire.
  • SAMUEL HILLIARD – Royal Welsh Fusiliers Died on 4 November 1918.
  • ISACC THOMPSON HODSON – Royal Army Service Corps Died on 3 April 1919, age 44.
  • SAMUEL HOOPER – Royal Army Service Corps Died on 24 February 1919.
  • M HUDSON – Oxford and Bucks Light Infantry Died on 12 June 1921.
  • ROBERT IRONS – Royal Army Medical Corps Died on 22 April 1915 age 25. Son of JH Irons, 5 Eddystone Terrace, Wadebridge, Cornwall.
  • EDWARD JONES – Royal Welsh Fusiliers Died on 5 November 1918.
  • HUGH PIERCE JONES – Royal Welsh Fusiliers Died on 6 July 1918. Born Denbigh.
  • EDWARD KING – Royal Welsh Fusiliers Died on 17 August 1919 age 21. Son of William and Hannaj Jane King, Huyton House, Adlington, Lancashire.
  • TOM MANDRY – Royal Welsh Fusiliers Died on 4 August 1918.
  • HENRY McBEATH – Scottish Horse Died on 15 October 1918.
  • ALEXANDER McKENZIE – Army Service Corps Died on 10 November 1918.
  • JOHN McKERRACHER – Scottish Horse Died on 22 October 1918 age 34. Son of Malcolm and Ann Hyslop McKerracher, 16 Hillside Crescent, Edinburgh.
  • STANLEY PEGLER – Oxford and Bucks Light Infantry Died on 18 October 1920, age 17. Son of AW Pegler, 104, Uphill Drove Road, Weston Super Mare.
  • ALLEN PRICE – Royal Welsh Fusiliers Died on 10 November 1918.
  • OWEN ROWLANDS – Royal Welsh Fusiliers Died on 17 July 1918.
  • CLEMENT HORTON SMITH – Royal Welsh Fusiliers Died on 6 November 1918 age 19. Son of Mrs. Helen Smith, of 8, Whitfield Street Tranmere, Birkenhead.
