The original St Patrick’s school was founded in 1865. It was situated in the back of St. Patrick’s Church. In 1915, a new a purpose built school was erected on the Dublin Road. This was for both boys and girls who entered the school through separate doors. In 1965, the boys were transferred to a new school was built on the opposite side of the road to the 1915 building. The girls remained in the older building.
