Each year on St Patrick’s Day the streets of Limerick are lined with tourists and locals alike. The tourists looking for that piece of Ireland they have seen in the movies while the locals are generally watching out for members of their family who are participating in the parade. The contains groups from local sports teams, local community groups and lots of scouts all singing “Every where we go!”.
March 17th in Ireland is the end of spring and can bring a range of weather types, even during the course of the parade. It is not unusual to see snow falling and to return home with sunburn but this is part of the joy of the event that brings thousands of people together in the city centre.
